My Sunshine (2021)

My Sunshine

Days turn into weeks,
As I stumble through this cave.
With its winding tunnels,
And never-ending pathways.

Will I make it out alive,
Or succumb to its grasp.
There's no exit in sight,
So I raise my white flag.

Without warning,
My eyes are blinded.
As a beam of hope,
Shines down on me.

In a confused daze,
I look to the sky.
Through my weary eyes,
I finally recognise.

It was you.

Frightened no more,
I lift myself up.
For I must fight 'til the end,
And kiss the darkness goodbye.

Towards the light I shall go,
If I want to survive.
But most importantly,
To meet my sunshine.

A Fool (2021)

A Fool

A Fool I am, and always will be.
For thinking that someone like you,
Actually cared for someone like me.

If only I had known that,
Behind those deep hazel eyes,
Lay nothing but hatred and deceit.

You lie to me once,
You lie to me twice,
Yet I can't fault you.

How could I possibly?
When you smiled so brightly,
And embodied the sun itself.

The worst mistake I made,
Was trying to find the good in you.
A fool I was to believe that it existed.

When all is said and done,
All I can say is thank you.

As now my eyes are open,
And my walls, higher.

Numb (2021)

Numb

When all is said and done,
And no more tears left to cry,

I sit.

And stare into the abyss,
As the abyss stares back,

Waiting.

Waiting for me to spiral again,
For me to crash and burn,

I cry.

Or at least I try,
As the tears,

No longer form.

Batteries (2021)

Batteries

Like dead batteries,
I have no energy.

Recharge them all you like,
But they'll run dry eventually.

It's not your fault they die,
You only want what's best.

But one day, you'll give up trying,
And my being will fade away.

To Be Loved (2021)

To Be Loved

Is it wrong to want to be loved?

To have the feeling of belonging to someone,
And that person wanting to protect you.

To have someone who will stand by your side,
No matter what life throws at you.

To be able to look into that person's eyes,
And see pure love and loyalty towards you.

To dream about growing old together,
And reminiscing over old memories.

Is it wrong to want that?

The Lonely Soul (2021)

The Lonely Soul

There he goes,
That lonely soul.

Walking this path alone,
Sadness takes its toll.

If only he knew,
That this were not true.

And behind the bushes,
A lone pixie followed.

From dusk til dawn,
With tears, the boy wallowed.

Having loved him from the start,
The pixie decided, to give him her heart.

The Text (2021)

The Text

Heart beating fast,
The time has come at last.

"It can't be that hard"
I say, lowering my guard.

Wanting the pain to end,
I finally click 'send'.

Have I made a mistake,
Will this end in heart break?

I glare down at my screen,
My sight turning green.

Emotions a mess,
Alone again I guess.

The Stranger (2021)

The Stranger

You let me walk this path alone,
No longer warm, your heart as cold as stone.

You say true friendship never dies,
Yet you hide behind a bed of lies.

You beg me to stay,
Yet never look my way.

You said I was your number one,
But to me it's pretty clear that we're done.

You said you'd protect me from danger,
But now you are nothing but a stranger.

You said you would always love me,
Turns out we were never meant to be.

Death of a Rose (2025)

Death of a Rose

Many a Summer's night, the roses wept.
Not fer rain nor great Helios' blessin',
But fer the sweet parfum, or books well-kept.
Though worst o' em all, the pain o' guessin'.
Roots thick with ambrosia, petals crimson
With the blood of their brethren, a tragic sight.
Despite threats of their looming extinction,
They reached fer their Mither, full o fright.
"Genteel Gaia, where art my darling luve?"
Their roots bled, petals dead like shattered harts.
Nae nectar nor divine scripture fae above
Cuid save their wretched souls. Not even the arts.
I sit in me Mither's garden, distraught.
"Love wins" - biggest lie I was e'er taught.

Persephoneia (2024)

Persephoneia

O! sweet Creature, where doth thou beauty bloom?
Thy love is faire, pure, like Gaia's blessed
Painting. From up in Elysium, gilded
In flora your beauteous weeds consume.
Like divine grains, thou sprang by Ceres' womb.
O Nature's great maiden, leave me enthralled
Though fated to Heav'n, now left unbloomed.
Taketh my fruits, and leave thy earthly tomb.
O! sweet Creature, forgive my unholy light,
May I seek thy love, for this bless'd night?
Once my forbidden muse, now undead bride,
Thou'st now a Queen, the Underworld's Pride.
Though Gaia may weep, and Ceres mourn
Tartarus thrives, a dark goddess born.

Sweet Summer's Curse (2025)

Sweet Summer's Curse

When Autumn's golden leaves are washed away
And Winter's harsh breath is long blown astray,
It's Spring's soft tears that caress my wearied skin,
And her gentle embrace that unfurls my yearly sin.

I am no poet nor playwright, but I must say
That I do compare thee to a Summer's day.

O! This dreadful ailment, the matters of mine hart
Why doth you seek me ev'ry cursed June?
It pains me so, yet concealing you, it's like fine art.
But it's okay, Darling, it will all be over soon.

Because Autumn doesn't wait on lovers,
Nor does fair Winter, or gentle Spring.
Grasping at my fragile hart, draining it of colours
Maybe next time, Darling, I'll let this love sing.
